Kanye West is on a creative high and whatever he is putting out is a breath of fresh air, me thinks. His current video heartless serves as an example. It appeals to me first because of its use of animation, but what caught my eye were the background paintings. The paintings featured The Jetsons an animated television series created by Hanna-Barbera Productions. The use of scale transformed what are basically cartoon characters in some form of pop art, their transformation for me was unexpected, it made me look at them in a new light. Ideas can be recycled and expanded upon, played and experimented with and the slightest tweak brings about different responses.
